Working with Mark Anthony Productions, I started as a Production Asst. and Craft Services, eventually working my way up to wardrobe and co-producer of Fashion Shows. At Joe Dumars Fieldhouse I was the Event Coordinator, producing and executing events ranging from charitable functions to religious, retirement, and birthday celebrations.

When we decided to have a family, my desire to be a “full-time Mom” became my greatest priority. To supplement my income, I harnessed my entrepreneurial spirit and started a daycare business and proudly raised four children in addition to my own. Two years ago, I founded “Funny Faces” to explore and develop my artistic instincts. I am contracted by Grosse Pointe Farms and Grosse Pointe Park communities’ Recreation Departments to paint faces at all their children’s events. Five years ago, I started and chaired a block party in the interest of creating a safe and fun-filled celebration of Halloween. This annual celebration is paid through donations (budget amount is $3,000) and includes costume and pumpkin carving contests, music, dancing, a magic show, rides and picnic. I enlist neighborhood volunteers to assist in the organization and planning.

The Amazing Cynicalman, a filmic adaptation of Matt Feazell's long-running comic strip character, Cynicalman, will be filming next
spring. We are now looking for actors to fill out the cast...there are still a few key roles that need to be filled, as well as many secondary
roles, bit parts and extras.

Matt Feazell is a freelance graphic artist living in Hamtramck, Michigan,
and has been self-publishing the minicomic adventures of Cynicalman, “America’s Laid-Off Superhero,” since the early 80s. His work has appeared in Scott McCloud’s ZOT!, DC Comics, Nickleodeon Magazine and Disney Adventures. WINTER HARVEST ROLES

Andy Titus: 36-40 - Male. Can be Caucasian or African American Lean build that can alternately appear clumsy or heroic. Andy has always had a self esteem problem. He reacts poorly to criticism. Recent events has caused him to slide out of touch with reality.

Tammy Titus: 30's - Female. Caucasian. Married to Andy. Was once super beautiful - and still is in many ways - but now she has worn a bit around the edges. She is currently militantly religious. She's convinced that the rapture will start at any moment. Behind all of the bible thumping intensity is a terrible burden of loss and regret. She is desperate for someone to blame for her troubles on.

Iago: 30-37 - Male. Caucasian. Tall, muscular with some kind of striking facial feature to break the leading male look. Andy's best friendemy. Iago is torn between loyalty to Andy and enriching his own life. Initially, Iago has lots of swagger, but is a self-serving survivor underneath. Not exactly cowardly, but always doing the cost / benefit calculation to anything he does. Events in the movie transform him away from this to a certain extent.

Dion: 24-40 - Male. Any ethnicity. An Army deserter, Dion is the self-made bandit king of the community.

The Scientist: age unknown about 45-50ish?. Male. Any ethnicity. A tall, mysterious scientist who has dark, extreme plans for humanity. A larger-than-life role.

Marty: 18 - Male. The spitting image of Andy. This is Andy's lost son who went to find food to save his little brother from starvation. During an attempted robbery of a military convoy he was shot. Captain Ian, who was heading up the convoy saw his young age and put him aboard the truck for medical attention. He was in a coma all the way to Montana. When he awoke, he assumed that his brother was already dead by now. Ian gave him a job cleaning up the base where he saw a number of curious things.

Gertrude: Early 20's - Female. Any ethnicity. Both beautiful and frightening, Gertrude is this story's Whore of Babylon. She finds purpose in the shadow of violent men and revels in violence herself. Her archetype has been portrayed before as Mrs. Lovett from Sweeny Todd, Mallory Knox from Natural Born Killers or Baby Firefly from House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects.

Claudius: 45-50 - Male. Caucasion. Tall, imposing with a satanic sort of magnetism. Claudius is somewhere between Anton LeVey and Charles Manson. He is posing as an incarnation of some kind of dark god come to bring about an apocalyptic prophesy. But beneath it all he is just a con man using guile and charisma to keep himself fed and get sex from impressionable goth girls who are desperate for any kind of hope in this cold. apparently dying world.

Salam: 50-60 - Male. any Middle Eastern or Southern Asian ethnicity. A tired old man. Salam and Ariel are the only ones who seem to see the worlds conditions as passing and not final. Salam is a moderate Muslim who is not showy of his faith (at least not in the Winter Harvest subdivision). He prefers order to chaos and is dismayed not so much at the state of the world, but at the growing rashness of the people in it. Salam is not faring well in the extended cold. His age and poor diet are taking their toll. He probably has a limp and a bad cough. The actor should feel free to improvise on this. The point is that the younger Ariel has been more of a care-taker than a wife to him in recent years.

Ariel: 36 - 40 - Female. Any ethnicity. Physical appearance very flexible. Cast someone to go with Salam. Despite having no children with Salam, Ariel is a mother at heart. Unlike her husband, she has more patience with people's shortcomings. She is also a Muslim. As Salam's health has declined, she's been working harder at keeping the both of them fed and safe.

Lt. Octavia: 30 - 40 - Female. Any ethnicity. A professional military driven, by the books, woman with moral concerns about The Scientist's mission.

The Tulipanes Latino Art & Film Festival a 501c(3) nonprofit organization which hosts a free, citywide annual festival celebrating Latino culture through music, art and film. MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The mission of the Hell's Half Mile Film and Music Fest (HHM Fest) is to make contemporary film and music accessible to the general population of Mid Michigan, and provide developing independent film and music creators outlets for their work.
HHM Fest uses selected films and entertainment groups to provide or increase local access to a variety of entertainment and materials, through a variety of local venues. HHM Fest is a non-profit, cooperative effort of residents and partners who, in partnership with the Bay Arts Council, host the events, participate in planning, donate their time and material support
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

HHM Fest is more than an event for those who simply appreciate film and music. It's a grassroots effort to develop a community that participates in the arts. The festival idea developed from a "wouldn't it be great..." conversation, into "we can do it" action. We hope our actions will inspire others to develop new arts and culture opportunities in our community.
We're reaching out to schools with film programs locally, and around the country to give students the opportunity to show their talents. We're placing our call for submissions on industry web sites to connect with current and aspiring film makers, and attending regional and national film festivals to extend personal invitations. Through these efforts we're positioning Bay City as a progressive arts and culture community.
Year One
The first HHM Fest presented nearly 40 films, including over a dozen feature films and over 20 documentaries, shorts and animated films over 4 days. 7 filmmakers were in attendance and participated in Q&A sessions after the screening of their films. The festival also featured nearly 20 bands and individual musicians over 2 days. Several of the films had never been seen at a theater before being screened at HHM Fest, including "Greener," a feature film shot primarily right here in Bay City!!!
Year Two
What a great year! Year Two brought us the bands Canada, Diet Audio, F'ke Blood, The Kincaids, Mason Proper, The One A.M. Radio and Slumber Party. Our music venue exploded with great sounds and huge crowds.
Filmmaker participation was once again one of the best features of the festival. Frank Popper, filmmaker, and Senator Jeff Smith attended for their acclaimed documentary "Can Mr. Smith Get to Washington Anymore?" Screenwriter and Bay City-born Matthew Waynee attended for his star-packed film "Unknown" and taught two screenwriter workshops. Longtime documentarian Steve Gebhardt accompanied his film "Twenty to Life: the Life and Times of John Sinclair." Kenneth Hughes travelled from Hollywood to Bay City to talk about his absurdist film "Bad Dog and Superhero." And, our Toronto friends the Butler Brothers (Jason and Brett) brought actress Naomi Johnson with them for the screenings of "Confusions of an Unmarried Couple."
Year Three
Bigger and better than ever! Music included Great Lakes Myth Society, Tone & Niche, Cheap Girls, Monument Valley and more.
Australian filmmaker Chritopher Weekes attended with his film "Bitter and Twisted" (he wrote, directed and starred) along with 2 other films previously screened at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival..."The Autuer" and the documentary "Run For Your Life." Festival favorite "Dakota Skye was accompanied by Producer Shaun O'Banion and Actor Ian Nelson. Actor/Writer/Producer Kevin Sheridan supported his film "Leaving Barstow." Michigan Filmmaker Sultan Sharrief was on hand for his audience favorite "The Story of Bilal."

What's with the name?
In the late 1800's, a stretch of Bay City's riverfront was lined with raucous saloons and two-bit hotels where turn-of-the-century loggers and shipmen would go to blow off steam and take in more than a little local color. This strip was known as Hell's Half Mile.
Time has passed but the same rough-and-tumble spirit of the day is reborn in the Hell's Half Mile Film & Music Festival. Early in it's history, Bay City had over 80 hotels, hundreds of saloons and countless movie houses and theaters making it the entertainment capitol of Northern Michigan. This festival is a celebration of Bay City's history as an entertainment destination.
Today, the city boasts a beautiful downtown riverfront with boutiques, restaurants, theatres, pubs, hotel accommodations and other points of interest....a state of the art planetarium, art galleries, a thriving business community, an active shipping lane for Great Lakes freighters...Downtown Bay City is alive with activity.

GENERAL RULES
The 4th HHM Film & Music festival is open to all genres and categories (full length features, animation, shorts, documentaries, etc).
All entries must be submitted on DVD. Submissions will be returned at filmmakers expense only. For submission deadlines please see schedule. Extensions for submission may be made by contacting the show director. If selected, your film must be delivered to HHM by September 7, 2009 (proper screening format required).
All submission fees are listed in the deadline/fee schedule. We require that entries submit press kits including a short synopsis, a filmmakers bio, a list of the principal cast and credits, a black/white productions still and any other media information available. All photos should be clearly identified on the back and will not be returned. Any photo submitted may be used for festival promotion. Electronic files preferred.
Submissions using the student fee MUST include a copy of a current student ID with the submission.
Non-English language films must have subtitles.
The number, date and time of screenings are at the discretion of the festival.
Film selection announcements will be made in late August.

Animation

An Animation film is a rapid display of a sequence of images that creates an illusion of movement. This process can be represented with drawings, computer created images, models, clay, cutouts, puppets, still photographs, pixilation or any other inventive nugget of gold your brain can produce.

Music

A film of any style and filmmaking technique including; animation, live action filming or a blend of both. The film does not include any dialogue (other than lyrics) and must represent a complete musical piece from beginning to end, no song portions.

Poetry

A visual representation of a complete poem from beginning to end, typically accompanied by a voice overlay of the poet if the poet is not a visual subject. This can be accomplished through any style of filmmaking.

Documentary

A documentary should focus on non-fictional persons, places or things, and shed light on an aspect of reality.

Comedy

A film that is light, humorous or satirical in tone. A comedic film will usually contain a happy resolution of the thematic conflict. This can be achieved through any style of filmmaking including animation or live action filming.

Drama

A drama entry should include realistic characters dealing with emotional themes and life situations. Many genres can be characterized under the Drama category, including but not limited to: romance, melodrama, monodrama and epic films.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The MidWest 3-Minute Film Festival was created to provide a venue for filmmakers who may not have the budget, time or resources to develop a 12-15 minute short or feature length film. And for those who simply enjoy the 3-Minute Challenge! The top 25 films will be screened at the Civic Theatre in Farmington, MI on OCT. 3, 2009.
Cash prizes will be given to the "Best Film", "Audience Choice" and the "1st Place" winners of each category. Categories include:

Misc includes Experimental, Horror, Science-Fiction, Action, Western, Sports ... or anything your twisted little head can think of. Because the MISC category includes several genres, "Honorable Mention" will be made for the best of each sub-genre. If a certain genre, currently under Misc (like Horror or Science-Fiction, for example) makes up 6% or more of the submissions; that genre will be bumped up into its own category.

Who Can Enter a Film? The MidWest 3-Minute Film Festival is open to everyone! Adults, students, professionals or amateurs! Although there is no minimum age requirement on submitting a film, you must be at least 17 years old to purchase tickets to the screening.
How Do I Submit my Film? Entry forms can be downloaded from www.midwest3.com or you may contact info@midwest3.com to request the form. The completed form, DVD copy of the finished screening version of your film and the $10 submission fee should be sent to:

What is the Deadline for Entries? All submissions must be mailed (postmarked) by September 5th, 2009.
How Many Films Can I Enter Into the Festival? You may enter as many films as you’d like. The submission fee is $10 per film.
What If My Film was Screened at another Festival? We accept all film submissions regardless of prior contest or festival participation.
However, you may not submit the same film to the MidWest 3-Minute Film Festival more than once.
What Film Format is Accepted? You can shoot on handycam, camera phone, film, digital camera ... any wacky method you see fit, as long as the final product is sent to us on Region 1 DVD.
Does the Film Have to Be 3-Minutes Long? The finished film can be anywhere between the minimum of 15 seconds and maximum of 3 minutes in length (including titles and credits).
Does the 3-Minute Maximum include titles and credits? Yes.
What if My Film is Longer than 3-Minutes? Any entry that exceeds the 3-Minute maximum time limit will be disqualified.
How do I get my Film transferred to DVD? Most video photography and media shops offer this service. Contact your local store for details.
Who will Judge the Films? The festival jury consists of art and film industry professionals. This jury will select the top 25 films to be screened at the festival. This jury will also determine the winners, who will be announced after the final screening. The exception to this, of course, is the Audience Choice award - which is voted on by the festival audience!
What are the Prizes? The lucky winners will be presented cash awards for the following: Best Film $250, Audience Choice $150, and First Place in each Category $50. In addition, the winners will have shameless bragging rights!
What are the Film Categories? Categories include: Animation, Music, Poetry, Documentary, Comedy, Drama and Misc. You may classify your film according to the descriptions given on the entry form, however the panel reserves the right to assign your film to the category they see fit for the screening.
How Much are Tickets to the Screening? Pre-Sale tickets through the www.midwest3.com website are $5 each. Tickets at the door are $7 each. It is highly recommended you purchase pre-sale tickets in case the screening sells out. You must be at least 17 years old to purchase tickets to the screening.
When & Where is the Screening? October 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Civic Theatre in downtown Farmington, MI. (see the theatre website for directions: www.farmingtoncivictheatre.ORG)

Submissions must be postmarked by the specified deadline date and received at the AAFF office within a week. November 2nd is the latest an entry may be postmarked and still be considered for competition.

Please read the submission guidelines. We received over 2,500 submissions last year, so it's a big help to us if every submission is formatted the same way.

Entering the Festival

Bold visions. Adventurous Ideas. Skillfully crafted. Artistically inspired. These are the kinds of films sought for the 48th Ann Arbor Film Festival, the longest-running showcase of independent, experimental and art-driven films in North America.

All lengths and genres accepted and considered: experimental, animation, documentary, music video and narrative (for "hybrid genre" films, please select the category which most represents the essence of the work.)

You must complete an entry form for each film submitted. Entry fees are per film entered, and must accompany the entry form or confirmation. Make checks and money orders payable to the Ann Arbor Film Festival. Films previously entered may not be resubmitted unless substantially changed.

AAFF Green Submissions Initiative

In an effort to reduce the environmental impact due to the high volume of submissions, the Ann Arbor Film Festival has a Green Submissions Initiative. We encourage filmmakers to help us reduce waste and shipping costs using the following guidelines.

Package DVDs in a sleeve, not a hard plastic case
Ship in a stiff cardboard or other recyclable mailer with no bubble wrap
Print "Do Not Bend" on the front of envelope
NO PRESS KITS of any kind, please

Please be sure to send DVDs protected in some type of packaging! They need a fitted paper slip case to prevent scratching.

Screening Rules

Entries are accepted in two formats: 16mm and DVD. As of 2009 we will no longer accept VHS.

Please note: We only accept Region 0 and/or 1 DVDs (NTSC preferred, PAL accepted). We do not accept Blu-Ray discs.

DVD Screening
DVDs must be labeled with film title, filmmaker name, phone & email. Please place DVDs in a paper slip case/envelope, no hard plastic cases of any kind please.

16mm Screening
If you would like the festival to screen a 16mm print of your film, please note that tungsten projectors are used during the pre-screening process; xenon projectors are used festival week at the Michigan Theater. It is your choice whether to send a tungsten or xenon print. All 16mm prints will be returned after the festival.

Each film submitted must: Be mounted on a reel (not a core) heads-out, be contained in a film can, be shipped in a standard shipping case or reusable mailing container, have beginning and ending leader, have labels on the shipping cases, cans, reels, and film leader with film title, filmmaker name and telephone number.

The festival program will be announced in mid to late February, 2010. All submitting filmmakers will be notified at that time by the email provided at the time of submission. Please make sure to add "mail@aafilmfest.org" to your email address book to ensure receipt of notification.

If your film is selected for the festival program, you must provide an exhibition copy (16mm, 35mm, Digital File, Beta) by March 1, 2009 unless otherwise informed.

Terms & Conditions

The following will apply if my film/video is selected:

My film/video will be screened during the Ann Arbor Film Festival and will be eligible to win a filmmaker award.
My film/video will be shipped (at filmmaker's expense) in one of the exhibition formats specified above by March 1, 2009.
My film/video may be utilized for promotional purposes of the festival, limited to private screenings and preview-only copies for press and supporters.
A sample clip of my film/video (up to 30 seconds in length) may be promoted via the AAFF web site and AAFF YouTube Nonprofit channel, unless otherwise arranged with the AAFF.
I will permit the AAFF to use my name and stills from my film/video (at least one print-quality version provided upon request) for promotional purposes.

The following will apply for all film/video submissions:

The AAFF retains the right to archive the submitted DVD screener copy of my film/video (excluding 16mm prints) in physical and/or digital format solely for historical and research purposes, restricted to private viewings, and will not publicly screen it without my permission.
The AAFF will not return any submitted DVD screeners.

Winter Harvest Summary

Winter Harvest takes place in a near-future setting. The year is never mentioned, but it can't be too far off judging from the cultural artifacts seen in the film. America is currently experiencing an ice age that is the result of the one-two punches of global warming and nuclear winter.

The nuclear winter comes from two minor nuclear wars that happened one year after the next. The action takes place in two major locations - "The Orchard": a secret military research center somewhere in Montana. And "Winter Harvest" a subdivision of McMansions in southern Michigan. All locations are set to be filmed in Michigan.

Co-Producer/Production Manager

Supervises the physical aspects of the production (And some creative aspects at the discretion of the Producer) including personnel, technology, budget, and scheduling. It is the Co-Producer's responsibility to make sure the filming stays on schedule and within its budget. The Co-Producer also helps manage the day-to-day budget by managing operating costs such as production costs, and everyday equipment rental costs as appropriate. S/he also helps with the raising of any funds including crafting the investor plan. It's a major job for an ambitious and organized person with the time and energy to do it right. Will work with the Executive Producer and Director closely.

Location Coordinator

Locates and secures locations specifically needed for Exterior and Interior shots. Knowledge of subdivisions, loft spaces are helpful and farmland/woods. This will be a winter shoot tentatively starting in November and with a 3 month schedule on long weekends, pick-up shots and keep in mind with the winter weather.

Assistant Director

Assists the Co-Producer and Director. The ultimate aim of the AD is to ensure the film comes in on schedule while maintaining a working environment in which the Director, principal artists (actors) and crew can be focused on their work. He or she is in charge of overseeing the day-to-day management of the cast and crew scheduling, equipment, script, and set. The AD may also be responsible for directing background action for major shots or the entirety of relatively minor shots, at the director's discretion. And s/he operates the clapper slate.

Key Grip The main responsibility of a grip is to work closely with the Cinematographer / Lighting designer to put in the lighting set-ups necessary for a shot. Responsible for moving and adjusting major set pieces with the Lead Set Dresser or Art Director when something needs to be moved to get a camera into position.

Editor

Assembles the various shots into a coherent film, with the help of the Director. Must have knowledge of Final Cut Pro. Adobe After Effects and Blender or other 3d animation software a plus.

Script Supervisor

Keeps track of what parts of the script have been filmed and makes notes of any deviations between what was actually filmed and what appeared in the script. He or she makes notes on every shot (and takes digital pictures of), also keeping track of props, blocking, and other details to ensure that continuity is maintained from shot to shot, and from scene to scene. The Script Supervisor's notes are given to the Editor to expedite the editing process. The script supervisor works very closely with the Director on set, and Art Director.

Make-up and Hair Leads (2 spots)

Works with Production Supervisor, FX Supervisor and ultimately Art Director on implementation of hair and makeup for actors.

Sound Designer / Recording Technician

Head of the sound department on set and in post production, responsible for recording all sound during filming. This involves the choice and deployment of microphones, operation of a sound recording device, and sometimes the mixing of audio signals in real time. In post production will work with Director and Editor to ensure sound quality and create audio FX / Foley sounds.

FX Assistant

Works with the FX Supervisor on special visual effects. Helps design and executes practical effects on any shoot.

Stunt Supervisor and Safety Marshal

Where the film requires a stunt, and involves the use of stunt performers, the stunt coordinator will arrange the casting and performance of the stunt, working closely with the director and FX supervisor. Is also responsible for overall safety on the set, including the securing of all weapons and explosives. First Aid knowledge a must - certification in First Aid, CPR and firearms training a plus. Will also work with the Set Moms on cold related health issues. The movie is called Winter Harvest after all.

Wardrobe Supervisor

Maintains, assists, and coordinates Wardrobe for Cast. Responsibilities might include, help with wardrobe shopping, cleaning of costumes, light mending/repair if need be and work with the Director, Art Director and Special Costumer to set the character’s wardrobe.

Craft Services Coordinator

A combination of Craft Services and Set Mom's. Primary function will be the running of the green room, green tent or green van as appropriate and assisting with cast & crew.

Production Assistants (6 -8 spots)

Helps or assists cast & crew in various tasks such Grip, Gaffer, Security, Set Dressing, Transportation, Craft Services, Wardrobe, Special FX, Hair & Make-up, carrying or lifting light to heavy objects, getting coffee, or Red Bull ( for the Executive Producer), light administrative work, or other Production Responsibilities.

ELIGIBILITY: The Ferndale Film Festival is open to applicants except for contractors, directors and officers of Ferndale Film Festival ("Ferndale Film Festival"), its parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, distributors, web design, advertising, fulfillment, judging and Project agencies involved in the administration, development, fulfillment and execution of this Project (collectively, "Project Parties"), and the immediate family members of each (spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse or "step" of each) and those living in their same households (those persons whether related or not who live in the same residence for at least three months during the twelve-month period preceding the start date of the Project). Void where prohibited.
Entrants will be required to agree to the standard Ferndale Film Festival Submission Statement. If under the legal age of majority in your state of residence, your parent or legal guardian must complete it on your behalf.
All costs associated with the production of the Entry are solely the responsibility of the Entrant.
Eligible Entries will be judged based on the judging criteria stated below.
Entrants not required to be present at the Event to participate.

The documentary category is designated for submissions that blend insightful probing of the truth with creative expression that best tells the story it uncovers. This category is not an editorial as much an insight that allows the viewer to come to their own objective conclusion. As the truth of the subject matter is revealed, it should educate and challenge the viewer.

Developing artificial images to communicate that which real life cannot. We are looking for animations that take the audience to a level of identification that real-life would struggle to reveal. Film Festivals! The very thought is magical – promising to connect movie lovers to an exciting venue experience and great independent films.
Arts and cultural offerings have been shown to increase a communities' quality of life; arts that reflect a communities values and ideals. The statistics are overwhelming that the most attended – the most profitable – movies that filmmakers’ produce are those that are family oriented.
The GR Film Festival was created to:
1.Benefit the Filmmaker.
To stimulate and perpetuate the creative talent of aspiring and professional filmmakers, and to give them a venue to express their voice through the cinematic arts. A voice that resonates with the family through films that are inspiring and challenging. We also want to connect them to other filmmakers, publishers and distribution opportunities.
2.Benefit the Audience.
Give the viewing audience quality independent movies that are raising the bar. Movies that are message driven and that the family can enjoy and invest in.
3.Benefit the Community.
A film festival brings fun, newcomers, dollars, exposure and recognition to Grand Rapids. To continue to elevate Grand Rapids to a proper reflection of who we are – what we can be – in the area of cinematic arts. Also, the film industry is a growing asset for economic development in our state, helping to attract an educated and creative workforce.

GENERAL RULES
All projects developed, produced and/or distributed prior to three years of film festival. In other words, for the 2009 competition, all works must have been completed no earlier than August 2006. Any work completed before that will be considered ineligible.
The DVD must be clearly labeled with Entrant’s name, film title and running time. All films must be submitted on 3 NTSC DVD's or Blue Ray DVD's and must be accompanied by a completed entry form and payment of the non-refundable fee. Films may be submitted on withoutabox.com, or by mail to: Grand Rapis Film Festival, PO Box 1772, Grand Rapids, MI 49501
Cost of shipping is the responsibility of the entrant. C.O.D.’s will be refused. The festival cannot accept responsibility for damage or loss of materials while in transit.
For entry fees please enclose on check for the total amount of all entries with a copy of each Entry Form, together, in an envelope marked “Payment”. (Make checks payable to: Grand Rapids Film Festival) Payments can also be made via credit card through withoutabox.com.
Entry fees are non-refundable and submission does not guarantee that the entry will be accepted to the festival for a screening.
Although every possible care will be taken with entry DVD's while in our possession, we cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage. Do not send original prints or tapes.
All films will be viewed by the festival jury. All nominees will be notified by e-mail and awards will be given to the films selected as best in category.
All entrants agree that clips of their film and other material relating to their project may be used or published in promotional materials for the festival.
If selected, the GRFF requests five press kits (is not required) to include production stills, director bio, production notes, full cast & crew credits and QuickTime trailer.
All entries must be postmarked on or before the intended deadline to qualify, July 24thth deadline.

***WHAT IS THE DOVE FOUNDATION OPTION?***
The Dove Foundation is a national nonprofit organization that identifies and promotes family entertainment. The foundation awards its signature blue and white Dove “Family-Approved” Seal to those productions that meet its guidelines.
The Dove Seal has become the most sought-after endorsement by filmmakers trying to reach the faith and family audience. It has been recognized for over 18 years as the reliable symbol of wholesome entertainment by the industry's most influential leaders. Movie studios and DVD distributors frequently search though Dove’s online reviews (200,000+ monthly hits) for new products that their companies can bring to market.
Dove is one of our consulting partners for the GRFF. We are simply referring filmmakers to the Dove Foundation if they would also like to have their film reviewed and critiqued by Dove for a possible Dove Seal award. THIS HAS NO BEARING ON YOUR SUBMITTAL TO THE GRFF. IT IS MERELY AN OPTION FOR YOU TO CONSIDER THAT COULD PROVIDE ADDED VALUE TO YOUR FILM IN THE MARKETPLACE. The $100 fee goes directly to the Dove Foundation. You still send the GRFF this extra DVD(s) and GRFF will deliver this extra copy (if option is checked) to the Dove Foundation. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Submission to the Grand Rapids Film Festival constitutes an agreement with all festival terms and conditions, and permission to exhibit the work during the festival if selected. Entrants warrant that they have the legal right to submit their work to GRFF, that all statements made in this application are true and accurate, and that all necessary rights and clearances have been secured to screen the work at the festival. GRFF reserves the right to determine the final eligibility of any work submitted, for any reason or no reason. Eligible works must have been completed no earlier than August 1st, 2006. Work accepted to screen at the festival will be categorized in competitive and non-competitive categories at the sole discretion of GRFF. If film is accepted, entrant agrees to ship exhibition materials to the festival at their own expense, to arrive at the GRFF office by Friday, August 7th, 2009. GRFF can only provide return shipping via ground delivery within the United States. Although every possible care will be taken with exhibition material in our possession, GRFF does not accept responsibility for loss or damage. My film, if selected for competition or other screening, will be available in the exhibition format specified above by August 7th, 2009. I permit GRFF to use my film, if selected, for its promotional reel and to use press stills from my film for Festival promotional materials, such as the GRFF website and newspaper articles. The GRFF has the right to keep a copy of your film for archival purposes, and will not publicly screen it without permission of the filmmaker(s). Final programming decisions will be announced on or before Wednesday, August 5th, 2009. Entry fees are non-refundable, and submission does not guarantee that the entry will be accepted to the festival for a screening. Short - Narrative

Film/Video Entries that are less than 55 minutes and would be categorized as a Narrative.

College

Must be created by College Students or as a College Project or entered in a College Contest in order to be accepted in this category.
Films will also be judged in the Feature, Short, Documentary or Animation catagories.

High School

The only requirement is that this entry was created by High School Students (or below).

Documentary

Film/Video Entries that would be categorized as a Documentary and any length less then 150 minutes.

Animation

Films in this category can be computer generated, stop motion, claymation, traditional cartoons, etc. Films can be any length up to 150 minutes.

Michigan Award

Films in this category must have been filmed within the state of Michigan and use Michigan talent (crews, actors, director, etc).
Films submitted in this category will also be judged in Feature, Documentary, Animation or Short.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
Flint Film Festival's mission is to offer an established venue for viewing movies produced by independent filmmakers around the globe, to enhance the visibility of local filmmakers, and to offer young filmmakers a chance to grow and gain experience, while giving film patrons in the Flint area and beyond an opportunity to view an alternative to mainstream films. The Flint Film Festival also works in cooperation with other Flint based organizations to promote the exposure to and participation in the creative arts of the entire community.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
We are six years strong and growing! We are pleased to be here and look forward to many festivals in the future. What began as a brainstorming session among friends has blossomed into an incredible event that receives more and more entries each year. It is truly amazing what a group of dedicated, community minded individuals can accomplish with little or no budget. We believe in the strength and endurance of this community and that we can make a difference.
We'd like to thank Mott Community College once again for hosting our event at their Regional Technology Center. In 2004 our patrons had the opportunity to watch 30 film entries, in 2009 you will have the chance to see over 80 films by various filmmakers from the area and around the world.
We recognize that each filmmaker dedicates more time, effort and money to their projects than the average public realizes. Of the thousands that vie for the few vacancies in the industry each year, most are never seen or recognized by Hollywood. Every community has untapped talent waiting to be discovered. And that ladies and gentlemen, is why we are here. Each film you view is an independent production. A dream brought to reality by each filmmaker for you, the audience.
The Flint Film Festival also works in cooperation with other local organizations to promote the creative art experience.

GENERAL RULES
Fees, Rules and Regulations for the 2008 Flint Film Festival
All Entrants:
The 2009 FFF competition is open to any film or video completed after January 1, 2005.
The categories are
- Features, which are ( 55 min. and over)
- Shorts, which are (under 55 min.)
- Documentary
- College
- High School
- Animation
- Michigan Award
College; the submission must either have been created for a university/college course or the entrant must currently be a university/college student and have an ID covering the time period of the films creation.
High School, the submission must have been created while Entrant was in High School.
Films submitted for competition: Three (3) copies REQUIRED. Must be on DVD Region 1 (preferred) (contact us if region 1 is a problem) and on a DVD -R if self produced. The submitter must provide THREE (3) DVDs.
Submissions
- EARLY BIRD - December 15th to January 31st
- SUBMISSION PERIOD - February 1st to May 31st
- LATE SUBMISSIONS - June 1st to July 15th
Payment
Please Make Checks and Money Orders payable to: The Flint Film Festival and include them with your submission.
Media
Copies of all media provided for FFF competition purposes, will not be returned, unless you provide (at the time of submission) a prepaid, self-addressed envelope for such reason.
- Finalists to be presented in the festival will be listed on our website as soon as the schedule is perfected.
- Winners of the Flint Film Festival will be listed as such on our website as early as possible at the conclusion of the festival and that info will be retained on the site as long as practical.
- Finalists to be presented in the festival will be contacted by email or phone prior to this date.
- Finalist must send their finished - festival showing version of their film, which must be provided on DVD & Region 1 only. It is the responsibility of the Finalist (Entrant) to make sure the DVD plays successfully before submitting.
- All films in languages other than English must be subtitled or dubbed in English.
- Please read the FFF Terms of service prior to making your submissions. The entrant is responsible for reading and understanding these terms of service
- All submitters shall be responsible for obtaining clearances for copyrighted materials and the Flint Film Festival shall be held harmless in cases where clearance has not been obtained.
- Label all media with exact running times, WAB#, and film title in a readable form please.
- If you want to submit an alternate version of your film(re-edit, different music, etc.), it must be postmaked by the normal festival deadline of July 15, 2009.
Press Kits, Trailers
- It is suggested that all entrants provide press materials with their entry, it will be permissible to simply download media for this purpose from a site or have it emailed to us, we provide a presentation in the lobby at the festival and it is desirable to include Bios and Trailers in this presentation.
- Press materials may be submitted after you have been accepted if you desire, this will give you time to create media and may save you on shipping costs. Of course analog and digital press kits are always welcome when received with your entry.

- Submission of an entry to this festival signifies that the entrant understands, accepts and agrees to rules and conditions that are described here.
- All cash and non-monetary awards will be given to the primary applicant (entrant / submitter).

2009 Flint Film Festival Terms of Service: FLINT FILM FESTIVAL, INC. ONLINE SUBMISSION TERMS OF SERVICE These Terms of Service set forth terms under which Flint Film Festival may use the property as provided by (YOU). It is the responsibility of the Entrant (Submitter) in understanding and agreeing to these terms prior to submitting their film or video entry. 1. Permission to use. By submitting your film to the Flint Film Festival Inc. for the purpose of entry in any of our competitions, you hereby accept and grant the Flint Film Festival Inc., a non-exclusive, royalty-free and transferable license to use, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the user submissions for the sole purpose of promoting and bettering the Flint Film Festival Inc. in their continuing business of providing events of showing and promoting the independent film maker and their films and videos. Any use, copy infringement, or profit gaining outside the need of the business of the Flint Film Festival Inc. will be considered a breach of this permission of use and will not be tolerated and allowed. 2. Public Statements. Either party may use the other party's name for the purpose of making public statements such as press releases and marketing materials, provided that each party adheres to reasonable standards for making such statements. In all cases, full consideration and representation of the respective roles and contributions of both parties shall be given in any such statement. 3. No Assignment of Intellectual Property Rights. Except as explicitly set forth herein, each party's trademarks, copyrights, patents, trade secrets and other intellectual property rights ("Intellectual Property") are and shall remain the sole property of that party. 4. Maintaining Your Information. YOU will ensure that all of the information provided to the FFF by YOU is accurate, updated and timely. If you subscribe to our services, YOU will further ensure that the information pertaining to submission rules, regulations, prices and dates entered into Festival Entry Form are entirely consistent with the information published by the FFF as festival rules and submission guidelines, including information YOU are posting about us outside the FFF's infrastructure. This would include a FFF Submission sent through Without A Box's online digital submission process. If you choose to submit your film or property to the FFF via WAB, you will still be required to send the physical media or property to the FFF, along with a filled out paper copy of the FFF Entry Form, to the FFF address provided to YOU on this FFF Entry Form in a submission mail package. The FFF has the right to decline YOUR entry should incorrect or insufficient data be provide along with the included paper copy of the FFF Entry Form in YOUR submission mail package. 5. Availability. The FFF attempts to accurately provide up-to-date information about it's festival via it's web site and voice mail systems. However, FFF is not responsible for downtime of these systems due to one or more of the following reasons: Customer bandwidth is not stable, FFF's ISP has lost its connection, server and software upgrades, acts of nature , war or terrorism, phone company outages or periodic planned upgrades and outages, unauthorized attacks or usage. FFF assumes no liability should the system not be available to YOU. We will, however, use commercially reasonable efforts to get the system back on-line in those rare instances it is off. Although the FFF will take every measure to insure it's data is accurate, the FFF will not guarantee that all information as reflected on the FFF Web Site, Voice Mail System and other forms of communication, will be completely accurate. 6. The first annual Blue Water Film Festival, featuring the talents of aspiring filmmakers of the region, will be presented in Port Huron this fall.

Promising to be an event unlike any other in Michigan, the Blue Water Film Festival will emphasize local filmmakers, screenwriters and actors of the region which includes Michigan and across the river into Sarnia.

The Thespis Group of Port Huron is organizing the dazzling event, scheduled for the weekend of October 9-10, 2009. The top entries will be shown at the McMorran Place Entertainment Complex 701 Mcmorran Blvd Port Huron, Michigan 48060, located in the heart of historic Port Huron. Entries for the Blue Water Film Festival may include long or short features, animation, documentaries, and experimental. Amateur filmmakers of all ages with a Michigan address are encouraged to submit their work. Submissions must be postmarked by August 31, 2009.

Judges from around the state will review the entries to determine the finalists. Those finalists will be awarded complimentary passes for all events, which include a Friday night prescreening party and Saturday's full slate of films. The winning film will be awarded $1,000 (US), second place earns $750 (US) and third place wins $250 (US). The Viewers Choice award winner pockets an additional $500 (US). Each finalist will also be prominently featured in the official Blue Water Film Festival program.

The first screening begins October 10 at 9:00 am. Films will be shown in their entirety over the course of the day culminating in the presentation of awards at the end of the evening.

Lake Michigan Competition: Features

If your film was at least 1/4 produced, directed or financed in the states bordering Lake Michigan (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan or Wisconsin), you should submit your film to the Lake Michigan Film Competition (LMFC), rather than the open categories above.
The LMFC is an integral part of every East Lansing Film Festival. LMFC gives cash awards to the three best feature, documentary, short and student films. An award is given annually by Message Makers to "The Most Promising Student Filmmaker" that includes a shooting and editing package worth over $10,000.

MISSION & OBJECTIVE
East Lansing Film Festival (ELFF) is the largest and most diverse film festival in Michigan, showcasing all genres of features, shorts, documentaries and student films. The festival spans nine days, and the Lake Michigan Film Competition is an integral part of every year's program. The LMFC screens films that are at least 1/4th produced, directed or financed in the states bordering Lake Michigan: IL, IN, MI, and WI. All films contend for Audience Choice Awards.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The East Lansing Film Festival is entering into its 13th year of screening independent films from around the world. ELFF screens more than 100 films in three venues - a downtown theater, four adjacent theaters on the Michigan State University campus and at a multiplex in Lansing. We screen three extensive short film programs, a student film program, plus features and documentaries. Past visiting directors have included Michael Moore, Oliver Stone and Bruce Campbell. The festival features parties each night, an all-day hospitality room with delicious food and drinks, and accommodations at a beautiful, local bed and breakfast.

How to Enter:
Submit THREE (3) DVDs with a completed Withoutabox online entry form, 25-35 word summary of film and appropriate entry fee.
Submit entry fee by credit card paid online, check or money order and make check or money order payable to: EAST LANSING FILM FESTIVAL. Write the title of the film and its WAB Tracking ID on the check or money order.
No submissions will be accepted if postmarked after the last deadline date of December 1, 2010.
Please read and follow the Entry Regulations carefully.
Entry Regulations:
1.Entrants must submit 3 DVDs for judging. The DVDs must be clearly labeled with the WAB Tracking ID, Entrant's name, the title and running time.
2.No DVDs will be accepted if sent C.O.D.
3.Submission DVDs will not be returned unless a self-addressed, stamped envelope and letter requesting the film be returned is enclosed.
4.Works in progress will NOT be accepted.
5.Submission DVDs will not be considered unless accompanied by appropriate fee, completed Withoutabox online entry form, and a 25-35 word summary. Press and publicity materials are appreciated. When sending production stills and directors' photographs, please upload ONLY jpegs of 300dpi resolution or MORE.
6.All entries must be in English or contain English subtitles.
7. If your film is selected for festival screening, you must supply 300dpi resolution color stills (not of the production but from the film itself), and a digital photo of the director. We also require as much publicity material that is available and a complete credit list.
8.All film 35 mm prints must be on projection reels, heads out. No cores, please. All can reels and film headers must be labeled.
9.The festival director must authorize exceptions to the festival regulations.
SHIPPING:
The entrant must pay the cost of shipping an entry print to the festival. Collect or COD shipments will not be accepted. All international entries must be sent "free domicile" to the Festival Office with all transportation charges, duties, and taxes prepaid by the shipper. Any brokerage fees charged to the East Lansing Film Festival will be billed back to the shipper. Be sure to include all the proper customs documentation required by your shipping service.
Return of Entries:
Submission DVDs WILL NOT be returned unless a separate written request is received at the time of submission along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
ELFF will incur the cost of shipping back film prints screened at the festival. Every reasonable effort will be made to protect films and tapes from damage or loss, but ELFF, its management, or its juries cannot assume liability for damage or loss during shipment.
FESTIVAL CONDITIONS / ELIGIBILITY:
Entries must not have been previously submitted to the East Lansing Film Festival. Entries must be in English or subtitled in English.
Films or videos of any length (feature, short), style or genre (narrative, documentary, animation, etc.) are accepted. If selected for screening, the filmmaker will be contacted by email by February 1, 2010.
35mm prints, BetaSP tapes need to be received at least 14 days prior to the festival or the screening date.
Submissions received without the proper entry fee WILL NOT be considered for entry in the ELFF and will not be returned.

To mirror and support the Michigan Film Initiative which gives a 42% tax credit for films and video games made in Michigan, especially to help people of all ages to break into the film and video game industry in Michigan.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Lapeer, Michigan is a picturesque Midwestern town founded well before the Civil War that is 20 minutes from Bishop International Airport on Interstate 69 which is a major trade route from Canada into the United States. Amtrak runs through the town connecting Canada to Chicago. Located an hour north of the Detroit Metropolitan Area in southeast Michigan where most of Michigan's burgeoning film and game industry is taking root, there is real potential for the town to develop into a made-in-Michigan film and game makers outlet to exhibit their product for sale to distributors from across the United States and Canada. Some of the most successful film festivals are located in easily-accessed, small towns like Lapeer. The Michigan film and game industry is booming even though the Michigan Film Initiative is only one year old, with sound stages under construction in Detroit and, even closer to Lapeer, Pontiac. In Plymouth, Michigan, a Detroit suburb, a major expansion is underway at a video game production company.
The Michigan Film Office has already approved 72 feature films to receive the tax credit, of which 23 have been completed.

"A Screenwriter's Journey" Film Class

Two popular film classes will be offered in May by Emmy award-winning
Producer/Director/Screenwriter Chuck Cirgenski and M-1 Studios of Royal Oak.
Both courses, the "Nuts & Bolts of Producing" and "A Screenwriter's Journey; Content and Structure for Film Stories" are 8 week courses that will begin on Tuesday, May 12 and Wednesday, May 13, 2009, respectively.

Chuck Cirgenski has produced numerous award-winning shorts, documentaries and three features. He is presently in production on a new sci-fi internet feature film and a feature documentary on the world renowned Bootsy Collins. Chuck has been teaching production and screenwriting for over 15 years. A number of his students are presently working in the industry and have won numerous
screenwriting awards. (see complete Biography below.)

M-1 Studios is a film, commercial and video production company based in Royal Oak, Michigan. They offer complete, practical video solutions for businesses and organizations, as well as post-production services for film and television.
"A Screenwriter's Journey: Content and Structure for Film Stories" Course is geared toward screenwriters who wish to enhance their storytelling skills through group readings of each student's writing, rewriting and honest and constructive instructor and peer criticism in a nurturing environment.

Utilizing the "Hero's Journey" structure formulated by Joseph Campbell, the course solidifies your skills in finding your storytelling voice, developing strong logical structure, creating compelling characters that fill your stories with truth, defining and revealing your theme, along with writing what you know and what to do with your finished script.

		SCREENWRITING RETURNS STARTING WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2009 Get moving with your movie ideas! In this course you will work toward writing the first draft of a screenplay. Individuals will study successful screenplays that have been made into films and will learn how to organize raw ideas and transform them into standard script format. Characterization, plotting, theme, metaphor, script formatting, and pacing will be discussed. Participants will receive feedback on their work through group discussion and also on an individual basis with the instructor. The cost for the course is $350. In what has quickly become a tradition, the idyllic resort village of Saugatuck, Michigan comes alive each June with filmgoers, actors, producers and directors sharing the excitement as outstanding independent films from all over the United States are screened in casual, intimate settings. Entertainment professionals from Los Angeles, New York and Michigan created the Waterfront Film Festival in 1999 to provide a "middle coast" venue for independent filmmakers eager to show their work to sophisticated audiences. The festival has succeeded with growing support and recognition each year, and enthusiastic reviews from attendees. We invite you to participate!
Our festival is a fully volunteer run non-profit organization. All donations and proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales go directly to the operational budget of the festival. All donations are fully tax deductible and allow us to continue the tradition of the festival and to bring quality films and filmmakers to Michigan. The Lumenocular Student Video Festival is a student-run event sponsored by the Department of Communication and Media at Spring Arbor University. The screening and planning committee is made up of students, with one faculty advisor. The judges’ panel will be comprised of area faculty and professionals.

Lumenocular Objective

LSVF seeks to promote video that challenges and illuminates. In keeping with the Spring Arbor University Department of Communication and Media’s mission, we promote works on video, both narrative and non-narrative, that is Credible, Christian, and Creative, done by individuals who seek to Produce, Publish and Perform. The video festival does not aim to be exclusionary of non-Christian work or viewpoints. Submissions from artists of diverse practices and experience are welcome. The screening committee reserves the right, however, to deem some material inappropriate for an on-campus screening. We seek to celebrate work of high quality craftsmanship, artistry, and storytelling throughout the region and the CCCU (Council for Christian Colleges and Universities).

Festival Rules

The Lumenocular Festival Screening and awards (the “Paulies”) will take place on February 20. Early bird entries for the festival are due by January 15. If films are received after January 15, there will be a $10 submission fee. No entry will be accepted after Feb 15. Multiple entries are permissible, but no contestant can enter more than three entries as a director or producer. Please also note that all entries should be free of any form of copyright infringement. All films will be juried by the festival committee. Those whose films are accepted will be notified.

All applicants are invited to attend the screenings and prizes will be awarded. Time categories for entries are:

Five minutes and under;
Five to fifteen minutes;
Fifteen minutes and above.

Awards will be given for the following categories:

Audience choice
Best entry shot on a cell phone;
Best lighting/use of environment/art direction;
Best editing;
Best performance;
Best sound;
Best of the festival (3 awards): Best five minutes and under, best five to fifteen minutes, best fifteen minutes and up;
Jen's (faculty advisor) choice

Multiple awards may be given, based on the number of entries.

Quality Control

Features will be accepted in the Horror, Sci-Fi, Suspense, Thriller and Action genres or any combination, sub-genre or mix of these genres. We are looking for anything that Thrills or Chills. Features are considered to be anything over 60 minutes. Documentary and Comedy are encouraged and accepted as long as they fit into the genres listed above.

Shorts will be accepted in the Horror, Sci-Fi, Suspense, Thriller and Action genres or any combination, sub-genre or mix of these genres. We are looking for anything that Thrills or Chills. Shorts are considered to be anything under 45 minutes. Documentary and Comedy are encouraged and accepted as long as they fit into the genres listed above.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Thriller! Chiller! is the original alternative film festival in West Michigan. We honor the tradition of great independent genre cinema. Over the past two years, we have played nearly 100 short and feature independent films that cover every genre from horror to action, sci-fi to suspense.
Thriller! Chiller! is not like your average film festival. We greatly respect the filmmakers whose movies we play and we love our audience. We encourage audience participation and interaction. We strive to offer the best exhibition of our selected films. We look for the films that are destined to become the cult classics of the future. We play the kinds of movies that everyone can enjoy. These are the kinds of films that become people's favorites. The kinds of films that make people cringe, laugh, jump and cheer. There's something for everyone at Thriller! Chiller!
Tony, Chris and Keith are the directors of the Thriller! Chiller! Film Festival and are filmmakers themselves. They started this festival in 2006 because they truly love this stuff and they didn't see the kinds of movies they loved accepted into other "traditional" film festivals. They created Thriller! Chiller! because they wanted a film festival that they would want to go to.
Thriller! Chiller! is truly something different and special in West Michigan and our audience is growing every year. We hope to see you there in 2008.

GENERAL RULES
Press kits are not required but are preferred. The most important items to consider for your press kit are a digital still from the movie or your poster art and a preview if you have one. If sending in a trailer with your entry, please put it on a miniDV tape or on a separate DVD, or CD as a full resolution Quicktime (.mov) file. Accepted movies will have their digital still and trailer posted on the official Thriller! Chiller! website.
To qualify as a student film, a student must be listed as either the director or producer of the film or both. Students submitting in the student categories must currently be enrolled in a college, university or high school. You must include a photocopy of your valid student ID.
All competition winners are chosen by our panel of festival judges from submitted films that are selected in pre-selection by THE THRILLER! CHILLER! FILM FESTIVAL (TCFF) to screen during the festival.
All movie submissions to TCFF must include a check or money order for the full submission entry fee amount made payable to "Thriller Chiller, LLC" (U.S. Currency), and TWO clearly labeled DVD (Region 0 or 1) copies of your movie labeled with your name, WAB tracking number, address, contact phone number, email address, the movie's title, and the movie's total running time. All submitted movies must be in English, or dubbed and/or subtitled in English. A press kit is requested but not required unless your movie is selected. Press Kits should include photos, posters, synopsis, and anything else you may have for us to promote your movie with. Also, make sure you send us a digital picture of the poster art so we can put it up on our website.
Please do not send us your master copies. All submitting and attending filmmakers must be 18 years or older to attend any TCFF event where liquor will be available. All TCFF selections and/or decisions are final. Each movie is judged solely on its merits. We only accept original works mainly of the horror, sci-fi, suspense action or thriller genres or any combination or mix of these genres. Interpretation of what qualifies for these genres will be left up to the entrant.
Only one movie per DVD. If entering more than one movie, you must submit each movie separately. Exhibition Videos and/or DVDs must be received by TCFF no later than September 05, 2008.
All payments to TCFF must be made payable to "Thriller Chiller, LLC". Domestically, we accept checks, money orders, and online payments, in US Dollars only. Payments from outside the USA must be paid by certified check or International Money Order in US dollars only. Thriller Chiller does not accept cash. All submission entry fees are one time only for each movie submitted. All payments made to Thriller Chiller, LLC are non-refundable.
Each movie submitted MUST have ALL licensing and rights clearance issues resolved and granted for use in your movie before submitting any material(s) to the competition. If not, then we'll wind up having to disqualify your movie from the festival process. All submissions are reviewed by a panel of judges selected by TCFF. Selected filmmakers will be notified by email of their acceptance to TCFF in August 2008, and exhibition copies will be requested at that time. For exhibition, we currently accept DVD, Quicktime, miniDV and DVCAM formats only. If you choose to submit a DVD, please send a professionally mastered version. YOU are responsible for your DVD being readable. Make sure we can play your DVD! Participation in and/or attending TCFF implies understanding and acceptance of all terms, conditions and rules included herein. Not adhering to TCFF terms, conditions and/or rules is cause without prior notice for disqualification from being selected by TCFF and TCFF reserves the right to select and/or not select any submitted materials and refuse admission of any person(s) and/or material(s) to any TCFF activity and/or event at TCFFs sole discretion. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. All taxes on or connected with any prize and the reporting consequences thereof, are the sole and exclusive responsibility of respective winners. By entering the competition, all entrants agree to the complete contents of these submission rules. All entrants release and hold TCFF, Thriller Chiller, LLC and/or all other companies associated with TCFF and competition entities harmless from and against any and all injuries, rights, damages, losses, claims and actions of any kind arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the competition or participation in the competition and any competition related activity. Further, all entrants release and waive any claims with regard to TCFF and hold harmless TCFF and/or Thriller Chiller, LLC and/or the competition entities from and against any and all claims of any kind that are or could be asserted with respect to any matter whatsoever. Non-performance of any party shall be excused to the extent that performance is rendered impossible by strike, fire, flood, earthquakes, war, governmental acts or orders or restrictions, or any other reason where failure to perform is beyond the reasonable control, and not caused by the negligence of the non-performing party. The competition and/or these official rules are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Michigan, United States of America, without regards to its principles of conflicts of law. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, entrant agrees to personal jurisdiction by the federal and state courts located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States of America, and waives any jurisdictional, venue, or inconvenient forum objections to such courts. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby irrevocably waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, and/or any other damages, including attorneys' fees, other than participant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e., costs associated with participating in the festival competition), and entrant further irrevocably waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
